Vollkorn font pairings
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Vollkorn, German for wholegrain, was Friedrich Althausen's self-declared bread-and-butter text face and one of the earliest free serifs of real quality. Dark, sturdy old-style letterforms with a hint of blackletter grit make it excellent for long reading, and two decades of refinement have grown it into a full variable family.
